August 10, 2020 — Nova Credit, the cross-border consumer credit bureau, announces the appointment of Melanie Aliperti at Head of Product. In this role, Melanie will be responsible for scaling the product team and managing Nova Credit’s expanding product suite. Melanie joins Nova Credit months after the company raised a $50 million Series B to support its efforts to deepen the coverage and data quality of the Credit Passport® to create a “thicker” file of more recent, relevant financial data for newcomers to the United States. Nova Credit currently partners with companies across banking, lending, real estate and telecommunications. Customers include industry leaders like American Express and First Advantage as well as innovative start-ups like MPower Financing.

Melanie brings a decade of experience spanning product, operations, and strategy. Most recently, she served as Senior Director of Consumer Product at Affirm, where she led a team of product managers to provide honest and transparent financing to consumers. Prior to Affirm, Melanie led the Person-to-Person product team at Venmo, where she and her team were responsible for the core app experience, money movement as well as fraud and risk management. Earlier in her career, Melanie worked at American Express and Deloitte Consulting. She is a graduate of Cornell University’s College of Engineering.
